For my graduation project, I created Rethread, a card game designed to raise awareness among teenagers about the impact of fast fashion. The game was connected to an online platform where players could find information, connect with others, reflect on their habits, and take on challenges aimed at reducing their fashion footprint.
In Module 8, we created an informational video based on verifiable data. This video addresses a widespread misconception about the domestication of dogs. The video was drawn and animated in Blender 2D. For the final editing, the film editor DaVinci Resolve was used.
The project from Module 5 was to put your skills to the test and make a game in groups of 3. The result is the game Maya in which you are a cat, ready to explore a Mayan/Aztec-themed island in search of their owner. On your way, you have to collect orbs in order to finish the game.
In this game, I mainly created the 3d models such as the rocks, Trees/Forrest/Plants, Archeolegists' legs, Ruins, Temple and all attributes inside of the temple. (All including textures and shaders)
Then, I did the sound design together with a teammate. The background music we made from scratch using Garage Band and Reaper. Further, to link it to the Unity gameplay and make it a dynamic sound system, we had to prepare it in FMOD. The ambience sounds and sound effects, such as picking up the orbs, door opening etc. are my work.
Furthermore, some basic animations and the Unity game engine. The opening of the door and the modelling of the orbs in unity.
Blender I made some basic models and animations. The mechanical walker was the modelling assignment to learn about models for game design (so it should be efficient, optimized, and correctly modelled for Unity). In my own time, I also rigged and animated the mechanical walker to do a simple walk cycle.
The sack of flour was the animation assignment in which we had to animate a jump and a walk conveying a certain emotion and then integrate it with Unity to make it key-controlled. You can guess what emotion I chose :)
For Unity, we followed the Unity tutorial offered by Unity Learn.
Essentials of Programming in Unity, Essentials of Time 2d, Essentials of Real-time 3d, and the course Create with Code (up to and including Unit 5)
Not only did we get lessons on the hands-on part of making a game, but we also followed the subject of game design, in which we not just learned to make any game, but how to make a GOOD game. The design process behind creating a game that has a goal, is fun, balanced, interesting etc.
Including prototyping and user testing.
During module 3, I have made some 3d models in Blender.
These models have been placed in an environemnt using unity
and can be viewed on yanvol.itch.io
In module 3 we worked for the first time with a client.
